  • Initial Challenges: The client’s existing e-commerce website faced numerous operational hurdles, including inefficiencies and frequent technical disruptions because of server storage issues, poor website speed, etc.
  • Cumbersome Fulfillment Process: When a customer placed an order, initially the client had to manually check the products under that order and have to call that specific supplier for those products. This prolonged process was cumbersome.
  • Engagement Objective: Unified Infotech was tasked with streamlining and modernizing the platform to enhance functionality, efficiency, and user-friendliness.
  • Immediate Focus: Upon onboarding, we addressed critical bugs and system errors hindering website performance. We conducted ad-hoc maintenance and extensive debugging to stabilize the platform.

Technology Optimization

The client’s e-commerce platform was built using Laravel V9, Livewire V2 and PHP 8.1. These legacy systems required significant optimizations to adhere to modern best practices and maintain and improve existing functionalities. This was challenging as it needed refactoring portions of the codebase and upgrading specific dependencies without disrupting ongoing operations.

Complex Search Functionalities

The existing ecommerce platform came with multiple search functionalities such as RegSearch (car registration search), car model search, and dimension search. Each of these search options involved complex interactions with external services and databases. Hence, ensuring seamless integration between these services while maintaining product search accuracy and speed was a problem.

Localization and Scalability

The client planned to expand into new markets, starting with Denmark. So, Unified Infotech needed to adapt the platform for international scalability by developing a backend capable of handling localized content, different currencies, and region-specific regulations. This was a huge technical and logistical challenge.

It also showcased products from different tire manufacturers, each requiring calling a different API to get the product details. This further created inconveniences both for our client and their customers. Thus, the client wanted to develop a website to improve sales by eliminating these bottlenecks.
  • Technological Enhancements: The client needed to implement bug fixes, performance optimizations, and website functionality updations to ensure seamless user experiences. Additionally, the company wanted to improve and simplify its search functionality to enable customer convenience. They were also frequently facing storage issues that resulted in system downtime and were looking towards resolving them permanently.
