The client is a global supplier of excipients for the pharmaceutical and nutritional industries. They help their clients finalize the formulation and coating requirements for solid oral dosages.
Unified Infotech was invited to partner with them and build upon their skeletal pre-existing module framework. The aim was to offer a smart dose formulation hub capable of breaking down the process into simple, easily understandable segments, making it easy for their pharmaceutical clients to develop the right compliant-ready dosage.
We played a pivotal role in automating and streamlining this process to accelerate product development. Facilitating easy authentication-based access to technical resources, real-time data, and expert support, enabled us to help our client deliver high-quality yet simple solutions to their pharmaceutical clients for quicker time-to-market.
When the project was handed over to Unified Infotech, it could perform only basic functions. Executing the functionalities required a colossal amount of human intervention. Hence, their clients experienced delays in formulating dosage and got frustrated with the unavailability of proper information. Since the pharmaceutical industry is governed by extensive local and global regulations, the lack of adequate information proved to be a deterrent. Consequently, our client experienced revenue loss resulting from user dissatisfaction and result inaccuracy.
The project was very niche and required a good understanding of the technicalities involved in the process. It was also important to align each visual element with the client’s vision and industry standards. The challenges involved made the project more interesting.
The project dealt with a highly technical aspect of a niche industry. Understanding its intricacies and ensuring individual process accuracy took a lot of time. Also, the design elements we selected and implemented presented challenges because the client wanted them to play a critical role in user engagement and information delivery. Hence, the entire discovery, planning, and design phases were lengthy, with several iterations involved due to the technical complexities involved. We had to understand every aspect of the process in detail before proceeding.
The client wanted this web application to remain updated with the latest version of the tech stack we implemented. This entire module was built on Angular and Angular releases two upgrades every year. Since this module had certain third-party dependencies, there is always a risk of incompatibility with the latest upgrades. In such cases, we have to build the functionalities from scratch using core Angular materials for better sustainability and to remove these 3rd party dependencies.
The involved processes required dynamic visualizations. These visualizations or SVG images were generated dynamically based on the parameters provided by the users. The SVG image would change whenever someone changed the key parameters. This was another stimulating challenge that required innovation and creativity to overcome.
Catering to a global audience meant that we had to localize the language of the website. While building it in English meant it catered to a majority of global users, we still had to translate it into Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese so the client would not miss out on users from these important regions.
